THE EAST YORK Concert Band is hosting its 60th anniversary celebration with a Christmas Concert at St. Patrick Catholic Secondary School, 49 Felstead Ave., south of Danforth at Greenwood Ave., starting at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the door or by calling 416-266-1958 or 416-439-3542. Prices are $10 for adults, $5 for students and children get in free. The East York Concert Band was founded in 1948 as a night school class. The band has hosted the Canadian Band Association (Ontario) Community Band Weekend, played concerts for the Royal Canadian Legion, Sunnybrook Hospital, East York Canada Day, Scarborough Adult Skating Club as well as providing entertainment for smaller groups at various churches and Scarborough General Hospital.
